Decoy types

Post by longbow joe »

The flamabau (probably spelled it wrong) plastic body is the best type im sure but its a bulky thing.l had a lot of luck with the cheesy miss November blow up doll but the thorns n stickers are usually its death. The montana decoy is my favorite in the carrying dept. But its only 2 dimensional. Its almost comical to see the look on a bucks face when it dissapears to a thin nothing they seem to get pissed at it . I guess every type has its plus and minus quirks. What are your favorite types of deer decoys and experiences?
Vixen 2, metal ibex,Phoenix, sapphire, matrix 330 ,matrix 355 ,vortex and baby grand piano y25 relayer.
Trigger tecs, leupold crossbones and nikon bolts.
Zombie slayers and mostly swat broadheads.

I also have the Tinks Miss November and a Mr. October. Haven't used them much but plan to a little later in the season. Have never had deer interact with them yet but have found a new area with more deer so will see.

I'm very careful not to puncture them in the woods. Easy to patch if you do.

Read the reviews for them on Amazon.

Miss November is butt ugly to me!!

I did some web searching. Looks like Tink's Miss November and Mr. October are no longer available.

I did find these.

I have a molded plastic scar face buck or doe decoy. Kind of heavy but I carry it in a sea bag.

Joe I just bought the Flambeau Master Buck decoy too from SG! I think it looks better than the Primos Scar Buck decoy. I think it feels like a better made pvc decoy and more lifelike. It was also almost $35 cheaper with my club discount and $10 coupon!

we have a scare face, miss November and a dreamy doe. I would rate the dreamy doe the best easy to transport, simple to set up and when they disappear as a buck moves it's disappearance I think acts like movement to the buck much like using silhouettes for geese as the birds circle their view changes simulating movement IMO
