Here in West Central lower Michigan saw 2 bucks chasing a doe this morning.. 1 shooter and a small spike... They chased her around for 15 minutes...

Since my first post in this thread I have seen 4-5 more bucks cruising fields while driving around and I checked my trail cam yesterday with a few satellite bucks (bucks cruising new territory for does) moving through the area. Also, note the spike in bucks harvested by members on various forums over the last week, especially the last few days.

Get out there boys, this is the easiest time of the year for tagging a buck.

Saw 7 pointer chasing a doe yesterday, and watching does this morning they were awful nervous.so it looks like rut is kicking in here in Missouri in the Ozarks.. :)

I had a nice 18" wide 8 point run a doe by me three times this morning and a ear wide 6 point harassing does and a 2 or 3 year old half rack 8 point ( one side missing now) tagging back a little. After getting down I stopped by a camera and had a 22" inside spread 8 point with a doe making a new scrape as I was climbing down less than a 100 yards away. He is the one I am hunting. I got down to soon. :(

Here is a video I got of him a few nights ago. The time and date were not reset when I changed batteries so it is wrong.

From NW Indiana, nope. I seen bucks split up though, but too many doe not being chased to think it has hit. The rubs & scrapes are popping up everywhere, so maybe a few more days. Now is a good time to rattle one in! Bucks are ready, does, not!

Mid Vancouver Island...

Pulled some trail cam chips yesterday.
The actions of the past week indicated the bucks (chiefly smaller ladz) thought the Gals should be getting close, as they were actively tailgating. Most the Gals rebuffed these advances rather swiftly, and one older Dominant Lady did so with extreme prejudice - rearing up and flailing potential suitors with her slashing front hooves.

Night before last, that older Gal was being tracked by a very decent buck. She was feeding with her wee one (which has not been more than 100 yards from her since birth) when Mr. Wonderful arrived. This time the wench shook her fanny at the Big Boy, chased off her little one, and led the now drooling Suitor off stage left. The wee one stayed on site, alone, 1 hour 45 minutes until Mama returned with that dreamy "got a smoke" smile that tells all.

First confirmation of what we knew was pending.
The next few days should get things rolling right along, and with the cold front that is moving in, it may well be the best Prom in quite a few years!

Dancing time folks! Get out there if you can! :D

Cheers,
Nog

I was out tonight and was sitting on the ground when a huge doe with a big buck comes running past me, I tried to get them to stop with a bleat but they weren't stopping. 20yds away and no shot! So it's going to get better!
