Here in central area (Ripon) they are just starting chasing! Pre-Rut is definitely on! They are going to be in full rut way before gun this season so keep the bow going! 🏹 Good luck!

I'm in 90b (southern ontario) and have seen 4 bucks plus one that was road kill between today and yesterday while driving backroads. Yes, the rut has begun (seek/chase phase) as these 4 bucks definitely only had one thing on their minds. The last week of October always produces the most buck pictures on my trail cams as this phase has them covering ground for the first receptive does.

The last time I hunted at my northeastern Missouri farm was Oct. 17 and I saw a big scrape and several rubs that were not there on my previous visit. The deer seemed to be moving much more than two weeks before but I didn't see a single buck. On the highway to and from my farm and on roads around my home in suburban St. Louis, I have seen several dead young antlered bucks recently.

Pre-rut has started here. Lots of young bucks making scrapes and a few chasing. I thought I had a buck chasing a doe this morning but it turned out to be this critter trying to catch her.

Way to go Robert, one more yote gone from Ga. I am starting to see a little pre-rut activity (scrapes and rubs) here and hope to see it bust wide open within the next week.

Awesome job robertyb! One less yote to contend with! That pic there looks just as good as a 12 point buck to me!

I had a bachelor train of three small bucks come by last week, so they aren't quite ready in my hunting area. But I have heard some local hunters say they have seen bucks chasing does already. Maybe the three young bucks were just inexperienced.

The nice bucks that disappeared from my trail cameras in late August started showing back up at night a couple weeks ago. Earlier this week I got my first daylight late morning picture of a 6 point, so were getting closer. I'm thinking about 10 more days things should be warming up, and two weeks from now should they should be running around in an endless search. At least that's what I've planned my vacation around.

Unfortunately, we've only got 8 more days of the dedicated bow season so I'll be taking it to the last week like last year to try and arrow a buck.

Watched a small 8 point sent checking and harrassing does in a field this morning until one of the does got mad and chased him from the field. I'm in southern Ontario and I would say its still a bit early for the big boys to join in but won't be long !
