I've only owned two blinds in my life. An Ameristep (a cheaper one) and a Barronett Pentagon. The Pentagon is hands down the best of the two. What I am trying to figure out is what I could spray the top with to help seal it from the rain. It doesn't leak much but would like it to not leak through at all. I know whatever I put on it would need to be aired out before use. Any suggestions that you've had success with?
Thanks and God Bless,
Kevin

Re: Portable Hunting Blind Waterproofing
I bought one of these and stretched it over my Ameristep Doghouse ground blind. Holds up well and don't have to worry about any leaks, etc.

Less expensive than having to spray the roof ever so often and very durable.

Look at some of the tent waterproofing products. There are several out there. Look at Campmor, REI or Black Diamond for some ideas...

I've never used this but it looks like it would work ok. Read the reviews.

Re: Portable Hunting Blind Waterproofing
Latex house paint. It comes thick, brush it on as dry as you can, with some force to get it into the weave of the material. It makes a pretty fair tarp like material. Just a thought if you have some already at home.
Re: Portable Hunting Blind Waterproofing
The Dog House is the best to date that I have tried. I had the Original Primos Bull, it leaked bad. The Dog House mostly on the seams. I tried numerous camping sprays, etc. OK results. I think the above post hits it just right, you have to penetrate the fabric, or forget it! Most blinds now are about $100 or so, and just not made to water proof. I bought the orange topper which is mandatory in Indiana during gun season anyway, and it slows it down a bunch! Maybe there is a camo topper out there??

Cut an appropriate piece of camo tarp and secure it to the roof top.

Great Idea! Double sided tape would do the job!
