I have been looking to get a new crossbow for a few years now. My go to bow is a Matrix 355 , I shoot over a 1000 arrows a year out of it . I keep my shots under 50 yards ( my limit) . Thought I wanted a 380 B.D but is 25 f.p.s worth it ? Then it was a 355 Micro , harder to cock and harder on strings for a gain of 2 1/2 inches a side. The Suppresser ? The new 330 B.D ? Help !!!! If anyone has any input I would like to hear it . Other wise the money I have save up for it the wife might get hold of it and buy something for the house !

I like the smaller 355 Micro, and honestly see your dilemma. If the smaller size isn't what you seek, then I would say just stay with your 355 Matrix. Me, I have a serious addiction!

I don't "need" a new bow but after 8 years running my current one I "want" a new toy.

I am actually looking the other way. I don't need the speed. My longest shooting lane is 35 yards and whatever I have in my hands - crossbow, recurve bow, shotgun or rifle I have never had to shoot further than 27 yards and this is my 47th deer season. This years buck was at 18 yards.

I hunt mostly from a tree stand but my second (stand) is a commercial ground blind not well suited to a crossbow with a 36" wingspan. So I was thinking 315/335 Micro until they released the new 308 Short.

Yes, by today's standards it's "slow", but not so long ago 305's were the fastest thing on the planet and nobody felt "under gunned" using them. Someone has convinced us that you need great speed and great distance to shoot deer which are probably now wearing kevlar vests.

When I "bow hunt", for me, it's about getting close and the 308 is super compact and the Banshee model is "fully dressed" with everything that I would add to any model I might buy. And especially for a hunting blind designed for gun use, it's perfect.

And if I have a need for speed, maybe I will just drive fast to my stand.

For whitetail hunting I think the 308 would be great , but for mule deer I like that little extra forgiveness in range and it cuts though the wind a little better with a faster bow. That said I did kill a few mulies with my Axiom .

While I am certainly not an expert I can tell you what factored in my decision to upgrade to the BD400 and that was the feel in my hands and the way it shouldered and held, it just fit me perfect. So then it came down to the 380 or 400 and quite frankly it came down to the rail being camo on the 400.

Don’t make your decision based on advertisement, reviews or what other people prefer. Go pick some up and shoot them, that way there is less second guessing.

Simple jus buy 2 rails one 380 n the other a 330. Now you have 3 fps scooters on one platform. See the Matrix 355 jus became 3 models!

After 3 years of hunting and target shooting with crossbows (Matrix 310 - Poop Brown vixen - Matrix 355 - Matrix 330) I have come to realize that the Matrix 310 is all I really need. I can target shoot all afternoon without my previous back and hernia surgeries bothering me, and it is plenty fast enough for the hunting I do with an average range of 20 yards and a 40 yard limit. I have a regular Matrix riser and limb assembly I can swap out if I want to hunt with a 330 but use the 310 since my back starts to complain by the time I get the 330 sighted in. The 310 is also very easy on servings.

There is always room for another Excalibur crossbow. Remember-A little is good, A lot is better and too many is just enough.

I broke down and bought a used bow the other day that I had said repeatedly I would never own again, yep a compound crossbow.
I now have an Excal Vortex, a Matrix 330 in black, a Matrix 350 LE and a Scorpyd Deathstalker. I think I am not going to look at the classifieds for a while.

I have a micro 335 and a 355 all are faster than my 305 fps metal ibex .but its my favorite. This bow just feels right and is just so smooth .easy as pie to cock. I like the bulldog 330 just because its small compact and different. I can still easily pull back a 380 or a 400 but l just dont see the need when these 300fps bows are blowing thru deer. As mentioned you shoot a lot the heavier bows just aren't as fun.

X 3 with Bill and Dan ( a couple of my favorite forum members and friends ) as far as Micro 355's go.

Having owned an Axiom SMF, a Matrix 330, 355, 350 SE as well as my present 380..... I have to say I sure love those little fast, great handling Micros.

I presently have both a gen ll camo 335 and a new also camo 355 Micro.

Then today I truly stumbled into a "Deal" and came up with another Brand new camo 355 Micro with all the bells and whistles ( C2 crank, Air Brakes, cat whiskers, and limb dampners where the string contacts the limb near each end ) .

Having almost total confidence in the saying "you can never have too many" my signature will soon be changing once again.

I'm am considering using this new one for a back-up to the one I enjoy hunting with now... I have since getting that 1st 355 been justifing my 335 as my back-up.... but then there is that spare set of micro limbs

Oh decisions decisions.... Darn, and too think my wife calls me impulsive.... I pray she never reads this. If she starts counting I may have to let someone here enjoy this new one at a killer price sometime in the future Guess I'll see just how observent she is and hope for the best.
