Season over!

Post by bigbowman »

Well had surgery on my right wrist today. Good news is that the pain is gone in and around my wrist! Bad news, my hunting season has ended too early! Orthopedic doctor said NO hunting for the next 6-8 weeks! This is a real bummer. Ate 2 more buck tags again. This is becoming a annual tradition for me lately! 😂 Oh well, there’s always next year! Mind set because I’ve been a Chicago Cubs fan my whole life! We say that every season, there’s always next year! Well good luck to all of those still hunting those whitetails!

My season is over too. Our archery season goes on until Jan.15 and I have two more bow tags, but I already have 3 deer in the freezer (two crossbow and one rifle) and don't need any more. Also, I don't want to overharvest on my farm, so I'm done. Maybe I'll try to get my first crossbow turkey before the season ends. Success brings its own problems.

Glad you’re healing well. What was the surgery for? Ganglion cyst?

Had torn and ruptured tendons in my right wrist. I’ve dealt with it for years, but the last 6 months were awful. The pain was so severe and I was losing dexterity in my fingers. I couldn’t even pick a fork up without difficulty or serve pain! Got impossible to cock my bows or even pull the trigger. I wish I were ambidextrous, if I were I’d still be hunting! 😉

Glad that the surgery appears to have helped. 2018 should be a much better year.
