Ground Blind Zippers

Post by ko4nrbs »

For those of us that have had zippers on our Ground Blinds fail don't despair most can be repaired. Check out the many zipper repair videos on You Tube. I did and will be using their techniques to repair the zipper in the door of my Ameristep Doghouse blind. The blind is 3 years old but still in excellent condition so this information may save me a few bucks.

Thanks. Wax like bow string wax, paraffin, unscented candles helps prevent actual zipper problems.

I spray mine down inside and out with Silicone Spray. Really quietens them and is an excellent lubricate.

[/quote]. Yep , mines loud. I cringe and hold my breath when I get to mine in the dark hours.

I had a guy in a hurry to get to a gobbler he had just shot kick the bottom section of the zippered door on my DB Matrix blind and knocked a couple of teeth out of the zipper about two inches from the bottom. I brought the blind home and worked the zipper back through the split place and then took some braided fishing line and simply sewed the two inches at the bottom shut. This was 4 or 5 years ago and it is still working well. :)
