Damage to Barrel

I am fairly new to crossbow hunting and just won a 2017 Excalibur Matrix 380 Tact-Zone Crossbow Package and when I received it from UPS the box had a big gouge in it.

When I unpacked the crossbow I found a big chip out of the barrel. I don't know if it hurts the crossbow or if I am just being too cautious.

Should I send it back and have them send me another one or keep it and put some JB Weld on it?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Send it back. If you gouge it it's character; if it arrives from shipping with a gouge it's foul.

I'd get it replaced.....and just an FWI, what you're calling a barrel is actually called the mainframe...also referred to as the rail.

My brother just got his Matrix 380 today via UPS and it has a small nick in it.

If the Picture is the damage to the 380 in question.
I would have to think long and hard before deciding to return it.$$$$$
I can not see how the Nick would hinder the performance ever,
I would inspect the nick however to ensure that no crack of any sort resulted from the offending blow.
If so then return for sure.
If Not
JB Weld away.

Would not be my first choice to use to repair however.
Found this to be great for repairs of this nature.
15 sec repair. A little longer depending on how deep and handy you are

This is a different 380. It is a brand new one my brother recieved this morning. I thought it strange that two 380s were delivered damaged so close together.

I’d personally have them send it back on their money and get some kind of compensation for happening twice in a row for the same product! That’s unacceptable to me! Twice on top of it!

To clarify this was my brother's crossbow and not a second one for the originator of this thread okie143. I posted my brother's crossbow damage because I thought it strange they both got buggered up crossbows at about the same time.

what model is that? looks like that rough truck bed liner spray paint. i thought the excal black rails were anodize not paint.
