Rope Burn

Post by okie143 »

I have read on this and other forums that cocking rope burn is nothing new.

However as anyone found a way to prevent it from getting any worse? I don't care much about a few marks here and there but I don't want it to continue to eat into the stock.

It will just take the finish off when uncocking. Keep it slow and steady when letting it down. I've never seen one go deeper then the finish.

My Exomax did the same thing in the groove for the rope. I didn't even notice it until I saw your picture and then checked the Exomax.
