Now Excal comes out with one that is so expensive that the average hunter cannot afford it and the average person cannot hold and shoot alot.
I don't understand the second half....

Midge- a.k.a Micro 335

If you got the bucks go for it, if you got the health go for it, if you have to have the lastest and greatest go for it. But if you are tight on funds just get an older model Excal and it will do you just fine.
No question, the Assassin is not for everyone. I don't have a Beretta shotgun because I can't justify the cost.
The way the Assassin is made is the only liability is that if the rope breaks, you cut it and wind it up and set the trigger unit back to it's latch. The rope has a break strength of around 2,000 lbs so I don't see it breaking soon. Yes, if you have an Assassin, you should carry a rope cocker in your pack or truck.

Newbie I’m definitely all for trigger improvements! I guess I’ve been lucky because all of my bows so far have had nice crisp triggers! I just hope this sliding trigger box is not the future for all of Excalibur bows? I guess I’m scared that if the Assassin becomes the future, then the Excalibur that we all have come to love will be changed forever!
I very much doubt that all Excalibur bows are going the way of the Assassin. They are far more expensive to make. All the technology is for the flagship bow, the 355/Suppressor. But the technology and manufacturing process that goes into the trigger unit won't be cheap! However, there is some scuttlebut that it may go into some upper end bows in the future. Keep in mind that I don't work for Excalibur so do not take what I say as gospel.

I dont really know of a company that doesnt offer multiply price levels. Especially in the hunting and fishing world.
I dont see how offering a product you or I, may or may not be able to afford is a fault. If they didnt offer a product in every retail sector they wouldn't be doing their jobs .
