New Matrix 380 in route, question!

I’ve seen a few mention of “breaking in” a new bow or new limbs by repeatedly cocking the bow and leaving it for several hours or over night, shooting it and repeating procedure. Can anyone weigh in on your “new bow” procedure and how it’s worked out for you so far?

i think that procedure is more to stretch a new string than to break in limbs. I doubt that it would have any effect on the limbs.

Some do it, some dont. All your really doing is stretching the string on it faster so it settles down quicker.
Nothing stretches it faster than shooting it.

Set your brace height 3/8 above the bumpers and start shooting, twist the string up when it gets past 1/4".

Yep, set your brace height about 1/4" higher than the maximum mark on the rail, if it has one, or about 1/2" from the bumpers. Cock it over night, this will put a lot more force on the string, and help it quickly stretch in. I'm still kicking around getting a 380, or thinking maybe I'll hold out for an Assassin late spring.

I've never done it and see no reason to do it.
BTW, as far as gluttony for speed, I think the 380 Matrix will continue to be a great, desirable bow for years to come. Great choice!

I'm with Boo on this one.
I have never left my bow cocked for any extended period of time except for while I was sitting in my stand. I do shoot quite a bit with a new string to settle it in, but the strings I have bought the last couple years have not stretched much at all. Some materials will stretch more than others, but my favorite string makers do a very good job of pre-stretching them.

I did it with one of my bows, I don't recall with one.
Found out its way more fun to shoot it.
End result. Arrow goes fast.

I have a M380, 2 M405s and a BD400. My favorite one is the one I'm shooting at the time. I prefer the Matrix series to the Micro series.

Totally Concur.

And IMHO, Excalibur has made a drastic mistake by discontinuing The Best Bow they ever produced!
That being the Matrix 380 of course.
Ordering a back up set of limbs, and should now be Good For Life!
