OPTI™SPEED™ VELOCITY CALIBRATED BDC CROSSBOW SCOPE

Post by Sparkey »

Anyone curious or have any thought on it ?

Take advantage of the speed and power of modern crossbows with a powerful optic. OPTI·SPEED features a drop-compensating reticle to provide accurate hold-overs from 20-70 yards and calibrates to any speed of crossbow by scaling the reticle with a simple dial. The glass-etched reticle can be used with or without illumination, depending on surrounding light and target color.

A quality crossbow deserves a quality optic. It is time to ditch the "combo package" scope, and opt for a quality scope that delivers a bright picture and pinpoint accuracy in the field. Empower your crossbow with the OPTI·SPEED, only by TRUGLO.

Must be made by the same Chinese factory that makes Hawke scopes... :)

Reticle is less busy than most Hawkes. If it is a Hawke it will not be light!

I contacted Truglo customer service to inquire as to what this scope weighs.

Their response:

The weight of the TG8514BLC scope with the rings is 1.2lbs ( 19.2oz )

Most standard 30mm rings are about 5-6 ounces. If you replaced them with ultralite rings ( say 2.5 ounces ) you would have yourself a pretty light weight illuminated scope.

How much does a Tact zone weight? For comparison sake. I was wondering about this the other day

It would be great if someone could weigh A Tact Zone with and w/o rings for comparison.

My experiences with truglo optics in the past....red dot scopes and such has been that they are true junk! Why would you put a sub standard optic on such a quality crossbow as an excalibur? I am sure a factory varizone is better than anything truglo makes.

At first glance, the size and the clean reticle caught my eye. I've found a store that has them for 153 shipped. At that price, it is tempting.

As far as Truglo experience, my only sight of theirs I have is a 4 dot reflex, speed adjustable sight. Lite weight, small, and it allows me to never lose sight of my target.

Have to admit, a nice compact illuminated 1-4 would be perfect for my micro.

ALL Chinese scopes are heavy! It is much easier to make something strong if it is also big and heavy. Leupold has figured out how to make a scope strong and have good optics and still be small and light. If weight is a concern, I don't think Chinese optics are for you. What this scope has going for it is an illuminated reticle that looks to be uncluttered, and usable. I am interested in thoughts after you have used one a while.
