When you look on they're website, they list weapons down to spears and knives. Then you browse the gallery. There are some guys using knives, spears and even a derringer. I'm ok hunting piggies with a .45 but not sure I want to do it with a spear or a knife!

Yep! I'm going to make some new arrows for that and start practicing with that setup. Can't wait either!

I think the knives and spears thing they do with dogs. Not for me either. A pistol will be next for me. Probably my .357 Dan Wesson. Need to find a good bullet for it, though. I bet that derringer is a Bond Arms gun. Probably a very large caliber

When I saw the derringer, my first thought was .45-70... would be quite the handful

Well done.

I have to admit that when you described shooting that pig between the eyes using an arrow, I sort of cringed at first. Then I remembered watching farmers kill a pig before butchering. They only used a 22 rimfire, most likely a "short" rather than a "long rifle" cartridge. It would be one bullet, right between the eyes, as well.

Even if there was no deep penetration of the arrow into the brain, I expect he would have been rendered unconscious, and long enough to finish him.
Back about '65 hung out at the local abattoir. They killed cattle with a 22. Used longs. Imagined an X from ear to opposite eye. Dropped before the shot even registered in my mind.

Sounds like a fun trip.

Would have been cool to have a scull mount with the bolt still sticking out.

I've heard of people using knives and Spears when hog hunting with dogs but I've never done it.
