Hybrid?

Post by XB I GO »

Can you put Matrix limbs on a Micro stock or the reverse? I see some XB's for sale that say they are a combo. Are they legit? What are the pros and cons of such a contraption?

Effectively now, most if not all the bows are running the micro riser .

You can put matrix limbs on a micro as its been done a few times. But you cannot put micro limbs on a matrix. They technically fit, but the power stroke is too much.

You can build hybrid bows with some machine work to shorten the mainframe, too. I've got a Matrix riser/limb assembly on an Exomax mainframe/stock. I had to shorten the mainframe down to the same length as a Matrix 380 to do it safely. I did it because I wanted a full camo crossbow with a standard rifle stock instead of a thumbhole stock, and it was fairly inexpensive for me to do the project that way.

This would only work with aluminum mainframes, by the way... as far as I know you couldn't safely shorten a composite mainframe.

Good luck,

Search for "Pipsqueak"
Vixenmaster has spent a considerable amount of time shooting with a hybrid
