MICRO 355 arrow weight

Post by JUDGE »

New to this new Micro 355.
Now I am confused on what arrow and broad head.
The quill arrows are 165 gr and my bolt cutters are 150 gr that adds up to 315 gr
Excalibur RECOMENDS 350 GR MINIMUM.
What do you Micro users .

400 gr is what I use for my Micro. I have a Bulldog\Micro 355. The 400gr arrow is easier on the limbs are cuts down on the vibration and noise....

Good choice on buying the Micro 355!!

I'm using 408 total grains, seems to be great for mine.

Your quill arrows should be falling between 250 and 252 grn in my experience. If you're weighing them, calibrate your scale. Otherwise I think you've received some not so factual details.

Sounds like something is not added into the total weight. Most of the arrows I got with any package we're 370 grains with 100 grain heads. You need to assemble an arrow and weigh it, or contact Excalibur Crossbows.

I haven't specifically weighed Micro quills, but I'd be surprised if they came in under the minimum weight when tipped with a 150 grain head. Maybe the bare shaft is 9.9 gr per inch, but there's the insert (if aluminum it should weigh in somewhere around 30 grains, give or take), the vanes (6-9 grains apiece), the nock (at least 9 grains, probably more) and a couple of grains for the glue.

To get an accurate weight, you're going to have to weigh it yourself... the published specs for both the broadhead and the quills are probably going to be estimated or rounded off.

Good luck,

If I recall correctly, that's bare shaft. The remainder, (alumni insert, aluminum nock, and 3 vanes) comes to 86 grains or close to it .

That will get you to your total of 250~ grn
