Quick Question about Nikon Bolt on Micro 355

Post by xcaliber »

Anyone using this scope on a Micro 355? I'm getting 331 FPS with 408 grains. Spot On BDC says my scope will line up as follows:
20
30
45
58
65
Just wondering if any is close to this?

Thanks,
Dan

Swapped rings, and I'm all good now at 20 yards! :eusa-dance:

Is that your actual speed? There is a calculator for weight & speed, but speed is the only thing that changes the BDC. I'll run it, and get back to you in a moment.

Now, you can use top of rings, bottom of rings, etc. at the range and get darn near anything you want. It's the folks like me that have sometimers & get excited that blow it!

Interesting, thanks Dan. That is my actual speed. I dont use hashmarks or whatever you want to call them. I'm a zero'd kind of guy lol. Curiosity got the better of me, I've never even tested the circles on my bolt. Just shot it and tested it inside my self imposed hunting distance.
Last year a friend of mine got excited on his first doe encounter, and mistakenly used the wrong hash mark are shot clean over her back at 20. It pays to know, but pays more to not have the distraction, I feel anyway.

Yeah, some folks like to use a single crosshair style scope and zero at 30 yards, hold a tad lower for close shots. Not bad option really!

My 335 with the xr_bolt does 20 yards, 30 yards, 46 yards according to the spot on app and I've tested at the range countless times and this holds true!

I have used this scope on a few different models and also found their specs to be accurate. I installed it on the Micro 355 with low rings and had a hard time getting the 20 yard to line up.
