I didn’t answer earlier because I wanted to do a thorough comparison test. I have the BT Octane scope, Hawke XB 30, Zeiss XB75, Twilight DX (new on a friend’s Vortex, that I’m making arrows for), and the TR 530IL.

TR530IL- Advantages. Smaller, lighter, end caps, goes to 100 yds, ever so slightly better glass both in clarity and lower light.prefer the reticle.
Disadvantages: only one. The reticle is way too bright (with a fresh battery) even on the lowest setting. However, in low light, I could still shoot at least as late or later with the 530 even with the too bright reticle than thru the DX with the lowest setting on the lighting.

Twilight DX - Advantages - excellent lighted reticle. They all should be more like this. Have to go to a VXR , Duralyt lighted, etc to get better. IF, THE 530 HAD THIS TYPE OF LIGHTED RETICLE, IT’D BE THE BEST AVAILABLE DEDICATED XBOW SCOPE BY FAR! I think the 530IL is the best currently available regardless but don’t have the newest, latest/greatest Hawke with which to compare.
Disadvantages: more expensive, no end caps, heavier/larger, poorer reticle, ever so slightly less low light capability.

If I had a Twilight DX and didn’t need an additional scope or spare scope, didn’t mind the size, weight, etc, I would not buy a new 530IL and let the Twilight set in the corner. The daily normal usage capabilities are very close with the 530 being the winner.

I have a 405 and just took the twilight off and put the trophy ridge on. It's definitely brighter. It's only red though. I like the green on the twilight. Not a big deal but it made it easier to differentiate from the reticle and lumenoks. I would say it's probably not worth it...the glass seems a little more clear on the 530. But I like the slight extra zoom of the twilight. Plus when putting my cheek to the rest I usually have to readjust to see the full picture. I didn't have to do that with the twilight. There's pros and cons but in my opinion if you already have the twilight I wouldn't go and buy the trophy ridge 530.

Stepless illumination and metal screw in caps on the 530 are the most obvious differences. It also weighs 3 ozs more. I greatly prefer my 530s to my 525.

I feel the same about my XB1 vs my XB30 so this makes complete sense. How's the glass compare? MY XB1 is not clear to the edge like the XB30

About the same Keith, all Hawke did was slightly change the reticle and print a different name on them.

Billy when you say about the same, you mean comparing the Trophy Ridge to the Hawke? 530 to the XB30?
