Taxidermists?

Post by skeeter »

Hey fellow hunters. Was wondering if any knows of a good taxidermists in the Kingston area. After taking a meat freezer doe early in the season i was holding out for an ol'smasher buck. But i thought it would take longer than this or never at all.Last night a nice wide 8 pointer came in and it didn't take me long to decide that he would do.Hunting from a ground blind he took his sweet time coming so i could make a broadside shot with my Vixen shooting 2117's cut at 18" with 75 grain Wasp Jak-Hammers.My shot was a couple inches high but still got both lunges.A complete pass threw at about 23 yards.I let him be for half an hour then went lookin for him.It was by then dark and after a little searching found him within 60 yards.Has anyone seen a main on a whitetail before. He's got one about an inch long running down the back of his neck!He has an 18"spread so i thought i might get him mounted .I"ve never had one done before although have shot a few big ones.I'd like to talk with a few taxidermists if any body knows some.Pictures will follow as soon i can figure how to do it.Thanx guys.

skeeter,
I had Chocolate mounted by Advance on Scarrlet Road in Toronto. They have won a pile of national and international competitions. Great guys also. When I was at Advance some sportman show TV personalities (fishing show) walked in to have their buck mounted as well. I didn't ask what plug they used to hook their buck. Advance did a great job.

Hey Skeeter, Just want to say congrat again on your Beauti Buck even though it was an 8 ring  . All kidding aside bud really he is a nice deer anybody would be proud to shoot. It's one thing to shoot'em with a bow but shoot'em at their own height, thats another ball game. I was their and seen this brute, wait till you fella's see him.Proud of ya man.

Good huntin Butt.
