The numbers on the limbs just need to match or be very close to the same.

What's going on here?
Guy asked a valid question....I've been on this site about 5 years or so and I can't give him a honest answer to that question.
Some of these replies are what push people away from an otherwise great forum. Just saying.

The higher the number the stiffer the limb. It appears that 2 different scales have been used. One in the 50s and another in the 100 area. A 55 is stiffer than a 54, etc.

Well it's supposed to. Excalibur changed from one set of numbers to another a few years ago as I understand it. This question is best answered from Excalibur. I would contact Peter.

The rating numbers on the limbs are used to insure a matched set of limbs and don't necessarily relate to the strength these days which in my opinion is the best way for it to be. If the numbers were related to the strength then the first thing everyone would do is remove their limbs and start complaining because they didn't have the strongest rated set even if there was nothing wrong.

If there isn't a problem with the bow then why worry about what number is written on the bottom of a limb? If there is a problem then call and get a RMA and have it fixed. Excalibur has the best customer service in the industry and will make sure that every bow is up to specs in the end.

Sometimes it's better to be in the dark.

You're right, my apologies to the OP. I meant it as a joke, it has been discussed until our keyboard broke, and we still have no idea what the number mean. Hahaha, or at least what they translate to in the real world

No.. higher numbers do not necessarily mean faster limbs.
Since they changed the rating system a year or so ago only Excalibur knows which limbs are faster.
As stated the numbers need to match or be very close = they are only for grouping matched limbs!!!
