Went for a walk.

Post by hankenhunter »

Went for a walk in my little 12 acre honey hole today to see how the herd made out this winter. Within five minutes of walk and peeking I counted 12 mule deer. I skirted around them to avoid aggravating the gravid does. Continued on and found 6 bucks bedded down belching and chewing. One of them is enormous. I don't know where he came from, but far be it for me to complain. Lol. I saw no fawns but it looked like two were ready to drop. Overall, they look healthy and none the worse for winter. Time to put out minerals and supplement their diet. I want to put some antlers on that bad boy for hunting season. If I can figure out how imgur works I will take picks throughout the summer and post them. Happy spring,
Hank

It looks like you have a serious deer overpopulation problem where you hunt. You have to accept the responsibility to do something about it this fall. It's a burden, but we expect you to do your duty.
