Hunting weight

Post by janesy »

The ice storm here has me tinkering around a bit. Swapped all the lightest parts to my hunting bow, and gave the 315 the heaviest parts. Curious to see what everyone elses combos weigh in at as they carry on hunting days.

Micro Bullpup370 weighs in at 7LB 3oz
Micro 315 weights at 7LB 12oz

Neither has a quiver or bracket as they never hang from The bow

With the Ti 64 Titanium kit you can expect to reduce your hardware weight by almost half but that won't get you under 7 pounds yet, but closer.

Do you have aluminum scope rings?

Still raining here...

Chris it's possible to be under 7 pounds and to make your dream come true, My micro 315 weight 6,14 without cheek piece (2 ounces more with cheek piece) and no quiver. As Norman said there not a big gain with titanium bolt but there is. I have stainless bolt on that one, I keep my titanium kit for my next project.
Anodized rail.
TT trigger
zeiss xb 75 with al ring
All stainnless steel front end fasteners.
drstirrup bumper and silencer on the limbs.
It's possible to go lower with titanium kit. scope.
For me the big difference is the custom stock that I use. It's a custom black Vixen.
The idea don't come from me. I saw the one that Paul (flightattendant100)customise for his son Colton at Boofest 3 years ago. That's a big difference weight.
The black micro stock without cheek piece = 2,2
The black custom vixen without cheek piece = 1,7
I dug the stock to have a tactical look and cut the forearm end cap before to shorten the forearm the length I need and use some plastic parts that i took of from the stock to plastic welding the cap to have a good finition.

Interesting Marcel, I found out the Bulldog stock and rail setup is about 4-5 OZ less than the non BD setup as well. But I didnt tear into to break it down completly

Yep the Bulldog stock is heavier than the micro stock.
But on the other hand he has others great advantages. Sometime weight is not an issue when well distributed.

Never bothered weighing my crossbows because ...they all feel a hundred pounds more than my longbows .when l started using my first matrix l thought it needed a set of wheels lol.l guess weight is mostly personal perception.

Oh, you're talking about the bow's weight. When I first saw the subject I was thinking the hunter.

With the mountain climbing I have to do just to get to my tree, every pound I can shed off of me and my gear is a one I don't have to tote uphill.

Wow, according to my uncalibrated bathroom scale, my Micro 335 loaded weights 9.6 pounds! I would have guessed less. We both may need to go on a diet.

My Equinox weighs 10 lbs even. Small scope and reds only. She isn't getting any lighter either.
