A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Very foggy up here in central Pa. till 9:30 or so before it left. Had lone hen around 7 am. and at 11:45 3 Jakes came to check out the decoys. No early gobbling, later on ground prior to fog leaving. I think because they kept loosing their ladies.

I think the strut is at least 1 to 2 weeks away should be this week but hunters that I have talked to have seen and heard zip in most cases . We had really cold temps and snow a week or so ago and everything is behind this year.

Was out on Monday and this happened: over 23 lbs, 1 1/4" spurs, and was a bit beat up from fighting.
