While breasting the birdy on my tailgate I came across something, at first glance there was nothing out of the ordinary until I got down into where the breast meat and the wing meet up. After I plucked the feathers from the armpit, the skin was turning green, and there was scab as you can see. There was no odour, or any sign of infection or turned meat.
At first when I was cleaning it it apeared to be trauma from an injury, but after cleaning the meat further there was lots of black thick blood in the veins through out the breast meat. There were no pellets or other sign of being previously shot. Aside from the scab
This could also be simply a form of deep tissue myopathy that big birds are often subject to when they try to fly too hard or fast. Essential they pull the muscles and it dies from the inside out . which is harmless to the person eating it.
Problem is you dont get to know. Anyone else ever come across this?
