This is why I always skin out the turkey. Several times I've come across green color in the legs and thighs and wounds from where they've been fighting. I've discarded those legs because the meat was greenish. I also once had a deer with an old injury and a lot of green. For the deer I was recommended to leave 4 inches from the last green.

It looks like a old injury that went deep in the muscle I would trim it out and use what is left if it is still good if it is cooked right it should be alright . I have seen it before I think this is done by flying into cars or trucks .

Thank you for posting. Did you call it in? Here in Arkansas our season comes in so late, very few turkeys will work. A call will often send them the other way.
No, this guy busted me first thing. I was late walking in.
I poked around looking for an arrow I lost in the fall for a few minutes to let him calm down.
I walked to the field that he was in, one side has a hill on it, so I circled around and then went straight up the hill, poked my head over the top and there was a hen there.

So I figured since I'd been busted already, I figured what do I have to loose , my plan was to stand straight up and if he was still there take him. If not, Id only scare one hen.
Well, he was still there haha. And I REALLY scared the hen.

Great turkey.

I see a lot of injuries from fighting, so that is my guess. See it a lot with the wild hogs also.
