My brother Wayne needs prayers

My youngest brother Wayne (45) got into an argument at a garage party Friday June 1'st and we don't really know what happened yet, but the police are investigating and said there will be charges filed once they figure out who is responsible. At this point it would appear that someone hit him in the head with a baseball, pipe, hammer, or similar object. One of the people involved has changed their story a couple times and evidently the last story we heard was that he tripped over a garden hose and hit his head on the cement floor, and they thought he knocked himself out and left him laying there for 2 days. They then carried him to the couch and left him there until Thursday. The Doctor said that is not the case as the amount of brain trauma is equivalent to a person falling head first off a 2 story building. At first the Doctors were amazed that he could walk or function at all and said he should be brain dead with that type of injury. I visited him yesterday and and he could not verbally communicate but would smile or nod when I talked to him, and if anyone picked on him or said something he didn't like he would just flip them off. His girl friend that is the one who was taking care of him during this time is a CNA and should have known he needed medical help.. so things look pretty peculiar to the police. I received word about and hour ago that he was unresponsive this morning and after doing a brain scan he is now in emergency surgery to remove part of his skull to relieve some of the pressure. I am leaving now to go to the hospital and should be there before they are done.

Could really use some prayers.

Sorry to read this. Prayers being sent.

I was in coma for 32 days after my closed head injury back in 1990 and was not given any chance of leaving hospital alive but after a 3 month hospital stay I was released. Sure I have life long issues as a result of the accident but that was 28 years ago on June 9.
Prayers , positive thoughts and a " never give up" attitude go a long way. Will keep praying and best of luck for the best possible outcome

Thanks everyone.
They did emergency surgery yesterday and removed part of his skull to allow the brain to expand and relieve the pressure.
He was able to grin and mumble Sunday when we talked to him but by Monday morning was unresponsive. The doctor said the surgery today was to save his life and would no way affect the outcome of his injury. They currently have him in an induced coma and on a ventilator. They will do scans today and possibly try to bring him out of the coma in a day or two. We will then find out if he can breath on his own and if he has any brain activity then.

My brother and I will pray for you and your family! I will tell my Dad and our friends later too and I'm sure they will join us. We have a prayer group at Kids church so I will get you on the prayer list. The more the merrier, like the bible says:

Matthew 18:19-20 "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

Got a call at work this afternoon and they wanted the whole family there ASAP.
When everyone arrived they informed us that Wayne had developed a new bleed in the part of the brain that controls consciousness and they are unable to operate. They also discovered that he has a ruptured bowel leaking into his stomach. The will be taking him off life support some time Thursday or Friday as there is no longer any response from his eyes or pupils when they shine a light into them and there is no eye movement at all.
At this point he is considered to be brain dead but I won't give up hope until it's over.
