Been waiting for today!

Post by janesy »

Today has been almost 4 years in the making, my son and I went out together for the first time to set up the trail cameras and tour one of the properties I am lucky enough to hunt.
It poured rain, we got soaked, but my little apprenticed didn't even notice. I'm as proud as can be this evening, I hope he picked up some new memories today because I know I did. What a milestone to share.

Awesome! Nothing like getting the little ones involved, good for both of you.

My hunting buddy is growing up. He is 16 now. I remember lots of great days, setting up and hunting when he was a small child. Some of my fondest memories. Hope they are some of his. Good for y’all. That’s what it’s all about!

I can remember taking my youngest out with me he is one of 3 the other 2 showed no interest so I did not push it . The youngest is now 25 Killed his first turkey when he was 8 also he went trapping with me . Now he works for US fish and wildlife service as a fish biologist working with Atlantic salmon in Maine . I had a bumper sticker that said KIDS WHO HUNT,TRAP AND FISH DON'T MUG LITTLE OLD LADIES !

Thanks guys, we had a blast. He doesnt really grasp the concept of the cameras yet. But I think after a month of pics he'll be pretty stoked.

The other side of the story is that my wife and little daughter got to go into town found a new book and some tasty treats, had some really good mother daughter time. So it was really a great day all around.
