Alternatives for arrows should SHTF

The question sounds like it should be on one of those prepper forums but a real life application may be where countries are crazy enough to ban crossbows or importation of components from users. I would assume for high powered crossbows, home made wooden bolts are never going to stand up to the forces involved. Are there other home made or industrial alternatives? Or would the answer be just to stock up on regular shafts in advance?

Sky falls on states and countries all the time. Its called encroaching weapons laws. Ask someone from the UK if they wished they stockpiled bolts in advance

....and part of the problems is most gun owners are not members of the NRA, nor do they spend the time to encourage new people into any realm of the outdoors....they are more concerned about me,me,me and hence the "snowflakes" continue to multiply!

my apologies steven, its handguns they took off you guys, not crossbows. Had it mixed up. I also new a guy from Holland who said crossbows are legal in his country, but the broadheads were banned.

Yes, we have just about the strictest gun control anywhere in the world. Problem we have is our politicians want to ban everything, it only takes one idiot and then things start to get banned. The other thing is nobody sticks together, vertical bow shooters hate crossbows, shotgun shooters and rifle shooters never stuck up for the pistol shooters. They don’t realise we all need to fight for each other.
