Lowest draw weight or length

Post by Lucky-Dog »

Very long time customer. Ive had about 3 Vixens and maybe 4 Phoenix through the years.
I stopped deer hunting myself several years ago to focus on our two sons hunting but now they have moved on with their lives.
I still have my oldest sons Phoenix and he said that I can sell it or keep it.
The problem is that a few years ago I was injured in my right arm and I recently tried but I cant pull the Phonix all the way back but I come so close, within about two inches (yes the most difficult part). If Im not mistaken the Phoenix is 14-1/4" stroke with 175 lbs pull.
So what new models are included just below the old Phoenix model in terms of specs (draw weight / power stroke) that you think I might could pull back ?
If Im reading the sales info correctly then the MATRIX GRZ2 is my only next option right ?

I thought about that but would really like to be able to draw back without it first if possible but thanks just the same.
I will keep that as an option if all else fails.
Thanks

Talk to Danny Miller. Excalibur is selling a target now that should suit your needs and Danny has bought some of them. They were built with European rules in mind that requires a bow to be hand cocked.

Now thats ironic. I was just sitting here looking to see if I still have his number on my phone and I do.
I might just give him a call.

Have you tried shortening the cocking rope?

Yes I did, as short as I could handle it, but thanks for the suggestion just the same.

You could have the Phoenix rail shortened one inch and turn it into a Vixen. 150 pound draw.

Excalibur cub!

Speed: 285 fps.
Power stroke: 11.5".
Draw wt: 190 lbs.
Length: 32.25".
Width: 26.9" cocked, 30.6" uncocked.
Wt: 5.3 lbs

Google search and you will find many still available..
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

I would buy a charger As it can be used with either hand as you said it is your right hand that does not work the C2 is right hand crank I have the same problem as ms has pretty much taking my arm/hand strength away so I use the charger on my Matrix 330 as well as my Grz2 . I talked to Danny Miller And he said the charger crank can be retro fitted to any Excalibur Crossbow .
