Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
My wife just looked at the spools as I was cranking the string on and noticed the string is not going on evenly she saw the right side spool stack up in one spot with string then the stack slides over to fill the empty spot on the spool that is when we hear the pop . that is because it is not winding level.
Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
There has to be a fix for this, but apparently Excalibur doesn't care. I watched a couple of demo videos on youtube, and it made the noise on both videos. How can they call this a silent crank?

Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
I have had a crank a roo and a C2 and they both will stack up the string and the slip and make a noise the only fix is to basically make the crank like a level wind reel and have a line guide but that will cost you more money I do not have a big problem with the string pop.
You have made enough noise walking in the string pop if it happens is really not an issue the ratchet clicks of the safe wind mode is an issue on the old cranks but I always just took my chances with the old models and left the anti reverse off I still have all my fingers.

Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
Like I said before it only lasts less then a second and I have no issue with it . I was just figuring out what was causing the pop . I have to use it on all the crossbows I shoot . So far I have over 100 times using it . With the crank roo and the c2 you got a clicking sound all the while you were cranking it . It is a keeper !

Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
Now that we all kinda know what is causing the pop maybe we can put this to rest . Most people using it will or should have the crossbow cocked long before any game is seen as for re cocking it I don't know about you but if I have to shoot again isn't my target going long gone so what does a little noise matter . This is far better then the old cranker roo or the c2.
Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
Just trying to find a way to make it quiet if I'm up in a treestand and need to re-cock. Yes I think it is an improvement over the C2 which I also own. I wish they had made it in Canada and not in China though.
Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
The correct way to go about this is for you to call excalibur or ask questions on here, not simply get on here with your first posts and start slamming a product that is relatively new.alatour wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:35 am

Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
I would just like to add something of interest I have been practicing in my back yard and have deer within 30 yards or less from me and when I use the charger they never took any notice of it . That is on the ground at their level so I don't believe that pop sound for less then a second is going to bother them . Besides if you are re cocking it the deer most likely will be gone for a while .
Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
I have this happend too! I do not have a big problem with the string loud twang.
There is not a nice even wrap back into the crank on both sides.
Sometime the last snaps happend 1/2 inch before to reach the trigger's latches and sometime no snaps.........
My big concern about that is! When I cock my suppressor with the charger crank with the rope not even on both side because of a larger wrap down to the main spool.
Does that affect tyler and accurancy at long range?
the short power stroke is less forgiving.
I used the C2 one years before the charger and I always took care to get a nice even wrap back into the crank on both sides using my hand as a guide to avoid that situation. I like the charger better than the C2.
There is not many people shooting up to 100 yards for fun. Every details improved accuracy. The big majority of deer hunters will not see anny difference. If there is one?

Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
My C2 did the pop a few times so I unwound the strings and generously applied Dalton's wax to the strings. This was years ago now and to date I have not heard another pop out of my C2. String wax is your friend.

Re: CHARGER Crank Noise
I had the same popping noise from my charger ext.
I lubed the string with some wax. And then guided the string on to the spool with my free hand.
I did this a dozen times or so.
Now the string goes on to the spool just like when I guided it.
NO MORE NOISE!!
Hope this helps.
