Swhacker 150 crossbow broadhead

Post by seabee401 »

Has anyone tried these? Was considering these because they are 150 grain and mechanical. The only one , I believe that makes 150 grain mechanical.
Just wanted some opinions on them first before I purchased them.
Thanks

Them 150s would fly awsome on a easton 2219 alluminum .The 150 grain and a 30 grain insert. ....perrfect together. Its nice to see some heavier heads coming out.

Yes, I agree longbow joe. First I've seen a 150 grain mechanical. Wondering if it would fly good on the top of Firebolts or Diablo bolts? Also, how well they work as far as blood trail and recovery of deer?

Them factory diablo and firebolts were designed to be used with a 150 grain head. Yes a 100 grain exact will fly good because its basically a field point but a 150 grain is getting in the range of a brass insert and its all good foc wise. . A swhacker is a deadly head l personality would use 2 bands on them in a 330 and up. I have never killed a deer with one but friends have killed many good stuff.

Just signed up on the forum. From NJ. Looking forward to learning and exchanging ideas!

I bought the 150 Swhackers. I shoot a Bulldog 400 with Diablo bolts.

Found they shot 3 inches to the right at 40 yards compared to the Bolt Cutters which were dead on with field points. Made the adjustment and now dead on and consistent.

Last year was my first with the crossbow and I shot two does with the Bolt Cutters. First one was double lunged and went 120 yards. The second was single lunged and thru the liver. It went 50 yards and expired in it's bed 6 hours later.

After reading the other thread I double banded the Swhackers and am looking forward to hunting with them.

Shot a doe tonight with the 150's. 25 yard shot double lung. Deer ran 60 yards stopped for 10 seconds and fell over. Between ribs going in, hit rib going out. Found bolt in sandy soil, with one blade missing. I am thinking it broke off on the exiting rib hit. Nice 3" slice thru lungs.

congrats on the doe! Was just wondering, do you double band the Swhackers? Does any feel the need to double band them?
Thanks

Yes, I double band them. I read another thread on here that recommended it.

I don't have Lumenok now, worth the expense? I see you can buy the Diablos with the Lumenoks already on them.

I used the Afflictor 150 grain Swine mechanical last year. Had great results- 4 dead deer, went through both shoulders of a doe at 40 yards. One time used only though. They fly like field points, no premature opening and I just used the supplied band. I am using the 125 hybrid version this year with 1 3/4 cut. Blood trail was great- easy to find all four deer.

I've been shooting the NAP FOC broadheads for a couple of years they're a 3 inch 170 gr. mechanical that flies awesome out to 60 yards. The 3 inch cut looks like you hit the deer with a hatchet. Good luck with the Swhackers.
