Micro 335 Limb Failure

Post by Buck »

After a decade of shooting (combined) thousands of arrows from multiple Excaliburs , I experienced my 1st limb failure. The Micro 335. I noticed my shot placement was a little off for 2 shots and when cocking the string I heard the slow splinter and crack. Statistics would tell me that it was a certainty and I’m not worried about it. I’m just not sure if the entire riser should be sent back or just the limbs. Also, what’s the general turnaround time? Its archery season in NJ and I have a backup bow, but the 335 is my “goto” bow.

I’d order a set of blemished limbs for back ups and for emergencies just like this! The turn around time is about a few days minimum. Good luck!

Call Dawn at Excalibur and she will get you squared away
I had my limbs for my Matrix in three days.
Make sure to ask for a hardware kit also...they won’t send it unless you ask.
Good luck :)

I had to have a set sent for my GRZ2 and it took 3 or 4 days because they were shipped from MI. so it depends where they are shipped from you might have to get an RMA # and they may want the riser .

10-4 on the blemish limbs. if you limbs have marks on the sides were they fit in the limb pockets it could mean
your riser needs to be cleaned up a little.

I’ll call Dawn Monday morning. I’ll take some pics in the AM while they are on, and after removed. I’ll also purchase a pair of blemished for insurance.

Removed the limbs and the left one has a 6” split running through the limb. I also noticed the right one has a splinter (about 2”) which looks like it was hidden under the bolts for the dissipator bars. Could there be an issue with the bars? I took pics but unsure how to post.

I feel fer ya on the limbs, n yeah they will take care of it. Every time it happens to me i get my nose bent out of shape big time. I want to throw it all in a box up in the loft til i cool off n that takes about a month. I had a set break on my pipsqueak couple weeks ago n was mad. I got the new set in, they be in the box up in the loft wid the rest of the matrix. It will sit there til this spring n i will decide what i will do wid it

Air Brakes - Not dissipator bars.

I had the same thing happen, except I was sitting in a treestand with mine cocked when a limb let go. I filled out the RMA form on the weekend and received the RMA number with directions on Monday. They had me ship in the whole front riser assembly to Woody's in PA. I shipped on Monday and received a new riser and limbs back the same week. I had it back together in time to kill a deer with it that weekend. I was nothing but impressed with the speed of the service.

I'd call Danny Miller also he's in Ohio. My friend's limbs broke and Danny just sent him a set of limbs the same day. Great service either way.
