Holy Cow, Batman!!

Post by Hi5 »

I was about to order the titanium fastener set for my Micro, and winced at the price, $72.09 US. Pricey, but dang it I'm going to do it.

When I proceeded to checkout, shipping was going to be added, naturally.

No big deal, thought I.

Then they told me it was Thirty nine dollars and change!! For a handful of fasteners?

What the hey! Does the Chairman of the Board of Directors bring them in person to my house and install them?

No he/she doesn't.

But I do have another choice for shipping arrangement. I can pay $80.00 for expedited shipping! And no, the CEO doesn't deliver and install them either.

Fellow residents of Canukistan, have any of you had to pay such outrageous shipping? Or did you simply drive to their plant in the USA and pick up your fasteners? Get President Trump to bring them with him when he visits Ottawa?

I wonder if you ordered a few sets what the shipping would be? That is some serious $$ no doubt!

I went to Ace and replaced all my fasteners for my bows with stainless steel fasteners. Good enough for me! 👍🏻

Does Danny Miller still have some of these? I bet he would be cheaper than that even w ship to Canada. Does forum member Normous have any of these for sale? He is in Canada, but not sure he has these. There HAS to be a cheaper way

I talked to Dan Miller and he doesn't have any.

Two things come to mind==

1. What do you folks in Trumpsylvania normally pay for shipping?

2. Are there any other guys on the cold side of the border wanting to do a combined shipping order???

If you frequent eBay or Amazon you will often see the same outrageous shipping costs. My inlaws winter in the USA, and I sometimes have things shipped to their US address (quite often for free), and have them forward it to me for a fraction of the price.

I live right across the boarder in Montana...I ship quite a bit of leather-work into Canada and EVERY single time it is nearly $40 US for items less than 2lbs.

Yep it can be pricey. I'm more concerned how much the brokerage is going to be once it gets to customs these days
