Same as above plus, rail comes in handy for a rest and shot stabilizer. Thinking back several years, all my shots have been from the seated position with the exception of a rifle shot. Less movement at the critical time works best for me.

Sit with bow in my lap not hanging to much movement to get it off a hanger and things can happen fast.

So my theory is I'm less likely to get busted if a deer looks up at me if I'm standing like a vertical tree.. where I hunt the trees are very tall with no limbs until 40 to 50 feet up so I try to put my stand near saplings that can give me good cover not to get sky lighted cause I feel when the do look up they dont see a big ball or blob that looks unnatural.. oh I forgot my stand is on a ridge where if I look up hill I'm eye level with the deer...

This...when I stand to stretch my legs I peek behind me as I’m in a piney area that is super quiet underhoof. I have seen a deer sneaking quietly past before when doing this. When I sit I rest the crossbow on my seat and the rail (2 man ladder stand) when I stand I have a hanger for the bow.

Same for me. I move very slowly at all times, and I look all around before standing, or sitting back down.

yeah, I sit mostly, getting too old to stand much, I have never had a problem with deer busting me , I just freeze, and they eventually don't get too alarmed. and go on about their business.
