Has the RUT started in your area?

Post by Riflemanz »

I'm seeing some rubs and a few scrapes but no chasing as of yet.
I let a doe live the other day hoping a big buck would come in
behind her but nothing.

I finally saw a doe in heat last night but so far there has been very little activity except the young bucks getting excited as they usually do early on.
Keep smiling!

Does and fawns is all I'm seeing. Back at it tomorrow morning. Have to leave the house by 5;30 am to get to the stand.

We traveled in North Texas last weekend and saw a buck with a doe in daylight - 3X (different places). Down south where I am the bucks are still in bachelor groups.....

Due to a minor surgery to stop replicating myself, I'm able to go out and climb a tree tomorrow for the first time in a bit. WEST wind too! Just got all my gear de-stunk and ready to go.
One more week before daylight saving time and things get difficult for me to get out.

Have seen bucks starting to show up in my hunt areas but have seen no chasing. For us it is usually the first 2 weeks of November.

Did see a large group of does this morning with no bucks in tow.

I saw two good sized bucks sparing in the field across the road from my house Thursday morning. Beginning of November here it starts getting hot when it is as cool as it's been.

I'm seeing nothing but bucks, very small bucks. I've been trying to bag a doe but spikes are driving me crazy. Oddly enough, I've got doe moving at night on trail cameras. Its like the roles are reversed. They do not appear to be ready in Northern Virginia quite yet. The new moon on Nov 7 should be just about right.

Scrapes, chasing, and a lot of movement during the late morning, early afternoon. In addition to a huge spike in roadkills. It’s going to be on soon, if not already.......

We had a nor’easter with heavy rain and strong winds from last night through tonight. Hopefully that makes for an active day tomorrow.

The rut appears to be kicking off around my place in east TX, but it’s probably 3 weeks away at my place in NW OK.

Seems to be off to a smoldering start. Seeing gradually more activity. You gotta be in the woods now. One doe in heat just sends the whole woods in a tizzy and you gotta be there when it happens.

In East Texas the bucks are still grouped together. Saw 3 yesterday evening about 18:00 hours. Could have pulled on an 8, but I have trail cam footage of a MUCH bigger buck!!!

This is the last weekend of bow season here in East Texas. Gonna go see if I can "stick a doe" later today. :eusa-pray: After bow season it's rifle season, but I still bow hunt during that season too. Hopefully with all the loud booms around me, the big guy will make his core area mine. I'll be waiting!!!
