Dissapator Pad on an Exocet 200

Post by DanO »

I noticed yesterday I'd lost the disapator pad on one side of my Exocet. Just wondering if its safe to shoot without that pad??? Accuracy?

Secondly .... does anyone have an extra pad or set of pads they'd like to sell? I can buy the disapator arms as a set for about $60 but I'd rather not remove them and begin the resighting process at this point in the fall.

Just take the other pad off and shoot it with the arms in place. I rarely shoot mine with the pads installed. You don't have to buy the complete assembly to get new pads. Pads themselves are available for around $20. The Archers Nook in London carries them.

I can send you a couple at the price of postage. I have them laying around because all of mine came off before I shot the bows. The liability of them coming off and the extra weight vs a one or two Db loss wasn't worth it to me.
I can't imagine a POI change if you remove both pads. Every time you dryfire a bow, the arms bend forward. I've dryfired countless times and never saw a change in POI.
If you want a couple arms and or pads, PM or email me your address.

Thanks guys for the responses. I think I'll just take them off. They're starting to look pretty rough and I think you're right Don. I never get a second shot anyway. Can't reload fast enough.

I have taken the pads off of all my exo series bows. I think they are pretty close to useless. I almost can't understand why they actually put them on some of the new bows.

I took the dissipater bars off of my Exocet 200 too! I just added a Boo custom Flemish string and S5 bumpers and the bow is as quiet & shock proof as a crossbow can be! Can't even tell the difference between having the bars on or off the bow! Good luck!
