Excal warranty

Post by TDHunter »

Just wanted to clarify from people with much more experience. I read on lots of different forums that excal warranty is the best because it's life time and it doesn't matter first, second or third owner. When I read excal warranty they clearly says it covers the original owner!. What has been your experience?? After reading their warranty I would assume any crossbow purchased off the trading post would not be covered under the excal warranty.

It has been my experience that it will be covered as long as it has not been modified to lessen the structural integrity and is mostly original. You can register a used Excalibur bow as soon as you purchase/trade.

Excalibur stands behind their gear no matter who owns it , I have never heard of any one they did not take care of who had a issue and often the issue was caused by the owner not a defect in the gear.

I have never been asked if my bow was new or used when I needed warranty work. It was just send it and we will fix it. :eusa-dance:

Just had a visit with my old boss at a sports shop I worked at as a kid and he had some disappointing things to say about Excalibur. I asked to see a G340 that was behind the counter as I've been thinking about getting a second excel, and he mentioned it had just been fixed. He said the owner dry fired it and wrecked the limb. I made a comment about how at least they have a excellent warranty and he went on to tell me that none of it was covered as he dry fired it, and went on to say that the Excalibur Warranty isn't what it used to be since they were sold to Bowtech.

Ok, I’ll say it and I do not work for Excalibur in any way......................That’s BS!! Excalibur has the best warranty in the industry without exception. Maybe someone didn’t follow the correct procedures. Just sayin

what procedures? is there something he's missing because I'm sure he'd be thrilled to know if there's a better way. he sells excels and has nothing to gain by suggesting there warranty isn't as good as it used to be. He was told that the dry fire was the customers fault and was there for not covered.

In saying that, I had great service when my 380 limb went , but that was also not a dry fire.

I had a partial dry fire last year that was really almost a total dry fire because the arrow only traveled 10 ft. It blew off the string, splintered a limb and even chipped the other limbs tip at the string groove. Not sure what went wrong but I am sure it was not the bow or arrows fault, I obviously didn’t load the arrow all the way to the string or it shook loose and I didn’t check it. I call Excalibur and told them exactly what happened and was instructed to start the rma process which I did and shipped the parts as directed to the repair facility. Less than 1 week later I received new limbs and string and my only cost was shipping to the repair facility. Again this was in no way Excalibur’s fault but they made it good. A warranty claim should be filled out on-line by the owner of the equipment and outcome decided by Excalibur not a “sports shop owner”

No offense intended.

If I dry fired my bow I wouldn't expect it to be covered but I would install an ADF for insurance and purposes! ;)

That would be like me hitting a pole with my truck and expecting FCA to cover the cost.. :)

I totally agree Jeff. It seems like it has become expected for everything to be covered when they already go above and beyond in my opinion.

I have had two sets of limbs swapped out over the years with Excalibur warranty service and neither time was I asked about what had happened to the limbs that splintered or even if I was the original purchaser of the bow. I was just told to send them in and new limbs were shipped to me.

Yep, pretty much no questions asked beyond what is wrong.
