Why do these companies keep refering to crossbows as........

Really irks me.

Possibly to differentiate between the pistol looking crossbows around now (for folk who can't understand a picture).
Then again, the advertiser may just be hog dumb about the history of the crossbow. It was in the beginning, and has been until this day, most commonly seen with a bit of a sholder stock.

To let people know it is a shouldered hunting tool and to differentiate it from the pistol crossbows.

I don't have a problem with that wording except some mis-informed or ill informed bunny bowhunters try to use it against us..

These people (Far East Import & Export Co) recieved alot of email from the old forum about the wording in their auctions and agreed to change it. They did change for along while but looks if they went back to their old ways.

Just be careful if you bid on a crossbow on Ebay, there is one seller called scooby ? something that will tell you if you email him that the crossbow is as advertised and pictured, so you figure your max bid relative to this and when you receive the crossbow, it is a stripped down version.
sempter fidelis (buyer beware) read the feedback reports on the sellers before you bid.
