Group,
I'm going to be getting a Horton Hunter Supreme from a friend, and he says that it has been sitting, strung, in a box for a couple of years. Should I get this compound crossbow restrung? I asked a guy here in town, and he said that as long as the string itself is in OK shape then I should be OK. I was just wondering what the collective suggests.
By the way, I absolutely love this forum. It seems like most other shops especially here in town will not give me the time of day. Sometimes I think that they take a look at me rolling up to the door in a wheelchair and thinking to themselves "Archery, this guy, not in one million years." I really do despise ignorance. Plus, when I start to ask questions regarding the crossbow like their opinion on trigger poundage, arrow selection, and overall customer service they look at me like, "Don't waste my time on crossbows..."
Really, here in Washington, crossbows have some kind of negative association. Personally, I think that traditional archers believe that we are, in some way, cheating. It's too bad, because this is the only way that I can enjoy the sport of both target and hunting archery.

My Horton Supermag has fallen behind in place of my Exomax and sat from 2002 - 2004 strung until my son shot it a couple months back and we had no probs.
