Screw-in weights

Post by Peacemaker »

Hi folks. Question for the braintrust on weights.

I have been shooting 100 grain broadheads (mostly mechanicals) for years, with good success. For numerous reasons that are outside the scope of this post, I am strongly considering switching to 150's, and thus re-sighting my bows appropriately (Matrix 380 shooting Diablos and an Exocet 200 shooting Firebolts). I have a bunch of 150 gr. Boltcutters (that I have never used), but also a bunch of 100 grain "other" broadheads. I would like to find some screw-in inline weights to make my 100 grain broadheads into virtual 150 grain broadheads. It seems that I can find plenty of such inserts for narrower "archery" arrows, but can't seem to find any for Crossbow bolts.

I recognize that I will have to play with the various configurations because they will all shoot differently, but I would like to even out the weights if I can and avoid having to scrap my 100 grain boradheads....Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

If I'm understanding correctly, you want weights that will screw into the front of your existing arrows. I would check with 3 Rivers Archery. They deal with mostly traditional equipment and may have what you're looking for.

I screw socket head capscrews in to the back of the insert, I then add
a drop or so of hotmelt. Works great, you just have to try some various
lengths in order to get the desired weight.
