Hello,
Finally getting ready to hunt with crossbow. Put in for archery deer, Elk, and javalina in New Mexico. As a 100% disabled veteran I get free hunting/fishing lisence and deer tag along with 50% discount on other big game tags. As mobility impaired I can use a crossbow during archery season as long as I do not use a magnifying optic. Looking into making my own bolts. Very excited to take up with this hobby.

I think the logic for no magnification during archery season for mobility impaired is that the vertical bow archer is not allowed a magnifying optic. You can use a magnifying optic during rifle season. NM also has two different seasons for muzzle loaders. No optics historical and with optics inline.
