New Kind of Hunting Today

Post by XB I GO »

Today I tried a new kind of hunting. We are travelling and I had a chance to try my slingshot. We got this on the hunt with Colton and finally figured out how to shoot it ok. Not allowed to hunt with it at home so I practiced a lot and it paid off on this trip. I am as excited and proud of this as if it were a big game animal!

I remember being a boy with a slingshot at the family picnic in the park.

The ladies used to say "oh , look at the little boy with the slingshot ".

Their expressioned changed when a fat squirrrel drpped dead out the tree nearby.

50 cal home cast lead balls out of my Pocket Rocket slingshot dropped many a varmint back in the day.

Nice shot!

Good shootin. My dog and I made a great team when I was a kid. He kept them in the tree while I nailed them with my wrist rocket. Fifty cents a hide back then. It was an easy way to pay for ammo for the .22 and shot gun.

That's impressive! Great shooting.

I'm as happy to bag squirrels with my crossbow as I am deer. While they aren't as hard to hunt, they are a lot more challenging to hit.

Brings back a lot of memories when dad would make me a sling shot out of a forked branch, strips of old innertube and , a piece of old shoe tongue for the pocket, and small rocks for ammo, killed a lot of squirrels, and rabbits and a few sit tight quail,
good job on your squirrel, ENJOY your sling shot. :D
I'd love see you make one, and show us pics. ITS FUN :D

XB I Go, One of the things that tickled me most on Colton's hunt, was that on a ranch with all that game available, three kids could take air rifles and go hunt rabbits and be just as stoked as anything. That was golden. The smile on your faces was wonderful. Congrats on the squirrel and hope there are many more in your future.

Ha Ha, thanks for the memory man !!!

Its a wonder we ain’t all shakey from melting lead in a coffee can to make fishing weights and slingshot ammo.
