Bolt keeper position

Post by Ferguson Outfitters »

So the bolt keeper should be just off center where it slaps the rail, or centered where it can drop down into the bolt channel?

How much pressure, do you guys ever adjust this?

At rest is it the low point even with the rail or sit above?

I centered it and bent the spring to where it sits 1/8” above the rail. It came from the factory off center touching the rail, always seemed excessively tight but functioned.

I never thought much of it until I was in a quick recock situation and went over the top of the keeper and I coulda swore I bent it and made it worse.

The retainer should be lined up with the arrow channel. Mine sits above the groove with about an eighth inch clearance. The arrow should stay no matter how much you try to shake it or swing the bow around.
