Of Mountains, Rivers and Desert

Post by Species8472 »

Just returned from N. Africa from a few weeks of kayaking and rafting in the High Atlas Mountains and trekking in the Sahara:

View from my tent on the first day on the river:

Just after sunrise from the tent at another river camp:

Group shot on top of a 600 foot high dune in the Sahara:

Desert attire. I traded a cowboy hat with a local for the clothes

Looking out over the endless desert with a few dust devils in the background:

Watching the sunset:

Our mode of transport from camp to camp in the desert:

A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.
