Micro 315

Post by hunter with MS »

I have a chance to pick up a micro 315 at a decent price . My question is does the 315 have a enough power for Bear ? I have seen reviews that say yes and no . I plan on using zombie slayers with 80 grain inserts making them around 289 grain and with 100 grain BH 389 grain .

Absolutely. 315 is the overlooked sweet spot of the micro line.

Oh ya!

Heck even the 308 Short is overkill for Bear! :)

That is what I thought. The only other animal I would be hunting outside of the normal would be a moose if my son get's drawing for one in Maine then I will be his second hunter not counting on that. But if he is lucky will the 315 do the job ?

Are micro 315 still available from a retailer? Was informed that the 308 replaced it.

Try a 125gr. broadhead for 414grains . For moose and bear I would like a 450 to 500 gr. arrow for the extra penetration in case you hit somthing hard to penetrate.. Ron

Woody's has them. Amazon has several, also.

The 315 was discontinued because of lack of purchases. It's unfortunate because there's very little it can't do. But alas, it lacked the sex appeal of excess speed. The 315 is my go to bow and I will likely never part with mine. Will it kill a moose? You betcha!

It is unfortunate. I believe it fell pray to the lack of cheek piece and REDS, making the 335 just a straight up better option financially.
The 315 didn't get the love, but it certainly was a well packaged micro. Maybe the best package
