Less than 5 months until bow season

Post by PublicLandHunter1 »

I am already itching to get out there and hunt. I need to take up turkey hunting. The weather has allowed me to shoot my bulldogs and I have some bolts coming from South Shore so I can't wait. The HHA is great on the range so I can't wait to get up in the stand and shoot that first deer using it. I went through all my camo- some I have had for 18 years and they are starting to fall apart so I am buying new. Caught a deal today at Cabelas saved an extra 10% off on Tuesdays. I found 2 new spots to hunt next year this past winter- maybe that I why I am already being pumped up. Of course once the heat and humidity kick in I maybe thinking differently. I hope I am not the only one already fired up- maybe a ground hog will make its way in my back yard this summer. I have been told they are good eating. For those suffering from the same condition- therapy is just around the corner- hang in there.

Careful. Turkey hunting is addictive! Lol
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

I always mentally calculate how far away we are from opening day of archery season at the beginning of each month. This has been the worst turkey season on my farm that I have experienced, so I quit hunting because I don't want to exterminate them. I went fishing instead and have been killing the crappie and white bass. I'm going fishing in Canada in June and we're going to France in July, so I'll be busy enough that the rest of the off season will pass pretty quickly. I just hope it is cooler by mid September than it has been the last few years.
