BULLDOG 440

Well I broke down and picked up a Bulldog 440 today. I shot one at Cabela's and loved the trigger. It breaks clean like a glass rod with zero creep. It's a substantial improvement over the trigger on my BD 400. I can't wait to get it scoped and out to the range for testing. I plan to experiment with some heavier bolts with more FOC.

I picked a bulldog 440 up at cabelas. Felt bigger and heavier than my bulldog 400. I really didn’t like it. Felt to bulky. Glad I didn’t upgrade to a 440 This year. I was thinking about it. It to each their own. With the new pro tigger I installed on my 400 I think I will just keep it until it craps on me. Or me on it. Lol

The 440 is alot of bow. For me I can't own anything larger than a Micro..

I find it very easy to cock and de-cock using the crank. I am not interested in it for speed but for the trigger and the available power. Very similar to what is noted in the "High FOC/High Momentum" post I wish to experiment with heavy arrows in the 450-500 range. I always want to take smart clean shots but like the added confidence of a pass through with a heavier arrow especially on quartering shots.

I kinda wish I had went with the micro suppressor. But with the new trigger on my bulldog 400 I finally am 100% satisfied. I love the speed and power of my 400. Could be a bit smaller but I am 6’3. So it Fits me well. Can’t wait to get out back in eh woods this fall with my Excalibur!!!

Shorten the 400 rail, and swap micro limbs, and you've got whatever micro you can dream up...
