Dr stirrup- stirrup

Post by Mixter »

How much weight does this add? I was thinking it could double as poor mans bipod for resting shots

I've cocked a couple bows with them and it does work well. I don't use one personally, but iirc, they add about 1/2 pound withe all the gear attached.

Actual weight - ? It is very light. It can serve as a vertical stand and as a bipod, off of a level platform. I have them on a M380, 405 and BD400. Being 72 and wanting to preserve my back, I use a Charger cocker. But, the Stirrup allows me to be able to rope cock for a second shot or recocking while hunting. Using both legs and the improved geometry greatly reduces the felt cocking weight.

If I recall ( and could be wrong ) I believe the stock stirup is around 8oz, and Dr Stirup is around 14 ?

Not enough to make a difference. Biggest pluses for me was the reduced stress of holding with both feet, and standing the bow up on its own. Very impressed with all the Dr. Stirrup add ons.

Their website says it’s only 9 ounces. Stock one is 3.5 ounces.

It makes it very easy to cock your bow while sitting. It also takes some stress off my lower back. I had a C2 crank, but it was bulky, occasionally awkward when shooting and the clicking is loud.

I think if you shoot a micro, getting a Dr Stirrup is the way to go, IMHO.
