Re: Scope to Red Dot
I’m guessing I killed 100 plus game animals last year with the crossbow alone, many of them I could not have done with a red dot alone because of light conditions or discernment of terrain and vegetation, and those ballistic plex reticles mean a lot for my type hunting.
I’ve tried an EOTech XBow red dot on one and it just could not get the job done.
I do push the envelope because the only goal I have is a dead animal. I don’t like to be hindered by limiting factors, especially self imposed. Live to hunt, hunt to live.
I’ve analyzed the crossbow effectiveness pretty darn good. I can afford any crossbow setup they make and I stick with the 300-340 Matrix with Nikon Bolt and ACOG.
Happy hunting

Re: Scope to Red Dot
Nothin to do with brand names ? was red dot compared to scope usage as my original post & that’s all . This is why I don’t get on these forums very often . Some don’t read & understand posts then when shown they get offended . Hard to learn anything that way . Thanks all I’ll go back to just reading . Happy trails .

Re: Scope to Red Dot
Many times I find the lack of answers a person claims is based on perspective. I also find advice not only differs because of experience but what one’s definition of hunting is in the first place coupled with bias.
Here in Texas a red dot perfectly set at 30 yards to a corn feeder with a timer set for an hour before dusk, with no obstruction betwixed shooter and animal, would be considered hunting for many folk.
