Crossbows are dangerous enough that I think it is appropriate to regulate where you can shoot them in more densely populated areas (like cities and most suburbs). I'm fortunate to own a farm where I can walk out of the door of the house and shoot to my hearts content. I haven't used them, but there are archery ranges not too far from my suburban home where I could practice if I wanted too. My situation isn't too bad.
.... but of course in Monmouth County as The People’s Republic of NJ police have yet to venture south!

Monmouth is south?? Anyway I have a creek and a nice high bank buffer in my yard..can only shoot to 45 yards though.
...I'm from fair Lawn in Bergen Count so you are south of me....years ago I was in a club in Hunterdon County.....the dear were huge!
Oh well...that was then and this is now.

Used to hunt Hunterton county..jutland.. amazing the huge bucks I used to see. That was years ago and if I had my Excalibur back then I'd have a trophy room that would have been unbelievable
I can shoot 30 yards in my back yard comfortably and a 40-45 minute drive to my club to get 70 yards on the archery range. To hit 100+ yards I need to go with my uncle to a property about 40 minutes away.....I really do like Boo's yard the best! I've never shot at 100 yards as much as I have at Boo's.

You're only paranoid if everyone isn't out to get you.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
My enemy's friend is also my enemy.
