Oct 01st here in Ontario. I'll be making the trip to my hunting grounds soon to chat with the farmers and deliver their gifts. If I take care of them they take care of me...

Don was looking forward to the upcoming season. It's truly a shame that he won't get the chance to enjoy another hunt. I am still at a loss to understand his sudden death. We are merely grains of sand on this earth.

33 days and counting here in NJ.

I’ve been shooting everyday. Checked the stands, cameras, and refilled the feeder. Just ordered refill pack for the Thermacell. Can’t wait

Went to do a drive by to a farm close by I have excluding hunting privileges for. Was a corn farm 10 years ago, but was then turned into a sod farm.
Well to my surprise... It's a Corn farm again!

Approx 100 acres of tall corn, bordering on 1000's of acres of impassable swampland and hardwood sugar bush. I'm very excited, I had never given up on this property, but the hunting success rate was declining steadily as it was no longer providing food or shelter.

Heaven!!
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.
